Welcome to Perfectly Imperfect Homemaking!

I have been a stay at home mom since 1999. I have always had a passion for creating a beautiful home and want to have space where it is ok to be less than perfect. Maybe you'll stop by and my table will be covered in homeschool paraphernalia or work from my husband's small business we just started. Also, my kitchen could be a complete disaster because I left it clean after dinner, but I have teenagers who ate after I went to bed and they forgot chose not to clean up after themselves. Or maybe my husband came home after a long day of work and sat all the bags/lunchboxes, hoodies, hats, and other work stuff on the table - but because it was late, we went to bed and I haven't yet gotten around to getting it put away because he was out the door early before the sun was up for another long day. And it is entirely possible, that we just have crap because we live life and it is everywhere.

What I want you to know is that even with those (or worse) circumstances, with a few short tips, you CAN create an inviting space. Does it mean every closet will always be orderly? Probably NOT! Does it mean we work towards that goal? Always. It is about letting go of perfection, being intentional with the time and people you love, and choosing to create the best you can out of what you have!

I want to encourage you to walk the journey with me. I don't have a "system"- I have just simply accepted reality! Reality CAN be a mix of messy and routine. I have been encouraged and discouraged by some of the YouTube moms I have watched. While I admire them, I walked away feeling much like a failure. It seems they're often cleaning or organizing a fairly clean and organized space. That isn't my reality! I don't have the perfect HGTV home. I don't have the perfect things created from Pinterest or straight out of a magazine. BUT, we have a cozy space, minimalistic-ish, and there's probably dirt, somewhere.

I still want you to come in and have a cup of coffee with me - so I'm gonna tell you, give me 15 minutes, and in that time, I can get it to a presentable place! I want you to see and learn how to overcome the overwhelm!

Will you join me?

xoxo - Dee
