Reflections
It has been a few weeks - I'm sorry about that. My intention in starting this blog was consistency and creating fun and useful content each week. However, the current events in our world have caused everyone's schedule to be a bit off, life looks a little bit different than it did with my last post. And I have needed to take some time and reflect, pray, and just be.
Actually though, as I process through this, that is what perfectly imperfect is ALL about. Living life - however that may look. Sometimes, it is routine and scheduled and then sometimes, things like a world pandemic forces change. Regardless, I pray that you are healthy and that you and your family and friends are staying home, staying safe. We will return to "normal" - everything will, yet I think some things will never look the same. I know it has caused me to think through and ponder what is most important. Toilet paper and hand soap, I've learned, are important. I say this to bring humor - but so many things I would have considered important 10 days ago, seem less so now.
In all honesty, my life hasn't changed all that much. I'm a homebody by nature and an introvert, but to be honest, being told I MUST stay home wasn't my favorite thing. We homeschool, so school is still happening, my husband is in construction, and at least locally, that is considered "essential." So truly, much looks the same in my life. My routines are in place, I've maintained them, except I'm going to tell you a secret. I suck at finishing laundry - terribly. I am known for having several loads, unfolded, in a basket at any time. Currently, I have a basket with 2 unfolded loads and I intend to do them every day. None of my "tips" have worked for me to fix this downfall/shortcoming of mine. I'm still a work in progress, perfectly imperfect, to be honest.
GRACE. A word that I have had to embrace and learn to accept. This is what you must give yourself (and others). That goes for your home, housekeeping, your marriage, your motherhood, basically - every facet of your life. So for today, I encourage you to spend time hugging those you love, practice social distancing (bet that'll be a term added to Websters this year), wash your hands, and BE KIND!
I will add more useful content later this week - working on some now, but for today, at this moment - this was on my heart to share with you! See you again soon - meanwhile, spend a few minutes working on some routines. They certainly help us!
